Match Report: Yorkshire Post: 6th February 1920:

HULL CITY RESERVES v LEEDS UNITED

Although E. Hart at centre half was the only professional in the Leeds United team against a strong Hull City Reserves side at Hull yesterday., the visitors put upa strong opposition, the forwards, who included representatives of Yorkshire Amateurs, often doing capital execution. C.Hart in the centre, was particularly active, and his distribution of the ball was most judicious. Captain O'Kelly and Plows on the extreme wingswere equally good, but in front og goal the visitors found a strong defence in which Hendry brought off many fine saves after Wadsworth had netted for Hull. Just before the interval a mistake by Middlehurst, the Hull right-back, let J.White through and though Barrass partly diverted the shot, the ball beat Hendry, and found the net. The sides were on an equality at the interval. Afterwards City applied more forceful methods, and Wheeldon put them in front with a strong drive which gave Jeffreys no chance. Leeds rallied in the closing stages and Owen and Plows came near scoring, but found Hendrey very safe. The attendance numbered about 2,000.
